Young Brothers

Well well, long time no art, gang!

Oof, this baby has been sitting in my files forever- finally had some time to finish it though! I had a lot of fun drawing these two as young teens. I know there's a comic about them and their origins, and while I've only glanced at it, I've always really disliked their designs, especially Tirek's. It just seemed waaaay too angsty and emo for him, hehe, so I decided to whip something new up for him that I feel fits his character a little better. Also, drawing young Scorpan warmed my heart.

In Harmonyverse canon, these two are the heirs to Tambelon, a mighty kingdom forged by the union of both Gargoyles and Centaurs through the marriage of both the tribe leaders, Queen Galatea, Scorpan's mother, and King Cervus, Tirek's father. Tirek was just entering his teen years when his father married Galatea, and Scorpan was around 2-3 years younger than him. Despite Tirek's reserved nature, the two step-brothers quickly hit it off, Scorpan's friendliness and curiosity to better know his now elder brother eventually rubbing off serious Tirek who finally had someone he could talk to. The two were rather mischievous together in their youth and caused many a headache for their father Cervus, much to the quiet amusement of their mother. I'll be delving further into their relationship prior to their departure from Tambelon, but for now, all you need to know is that these two were very close, as implied through show canon.

Now, I know Tirek/Scorpan's parents were also revealed in the comic,  but I'll be diverging from that canon, if you couldn't already tell, hehe. I know their story only vaguely, since I haven't actually read the comic, but I've got some ideas for their origins that I'll be sticking to, at least, for now. I really love working with these two and developing their relationship has been very fun thus far- I'm excited to be sharing more with you guys soon! In the meantime, enjoy folks!


Also, no background for now- I got pretty exhausted working on this since I'm a bit out of the swing of things in terms of drawing. Hopefully that'll change as I get back into the groove!
