Discordant Siblings

I don't normally post sketches, but I felt like coloring and dressing this up for the sake of fun, hehe.

I'm still undecided with where I'm going with Solare, but I have to admit I am considering him joining the Harmonyverse cast very carefully.  He's definitely a fun character, and I'd be a loath to scrap him again, especially now that I've gotten attached to him. So, just for funsies, have some sibling dynamics info below! (Note: Sol's age is flexible, either he'd be the middle or youngest between the siblings, not sure yet.)

Jinx and Solare: Tough relationship. While Jinx is much more clever and ambitious than Sol, they're both proud and often arrogant, stubborn, and snarky. They'd butt heads often if Sol were canon- Sol would be an insufferable younger brother who'd constantly try to get under his brother's skin, and Jinx would be very, very annoyed with him all the time.
Serenity and Solare: Serenity would looooveee having another brother (baby brother or older brother, it doesn't matter to her- she'd have another sibling, and that's great!). She'd be a naive, doting sister to him, which Sol would probably use to his advantage, unfortunately, without even thinking twice about it. He'd probably genuinely care about Sen at his core, but his laziness and general irresponsible nature would have him just shrug off his duties to Sen, who's kind of a pushover sometimes. Serenity's too good at being patient and is always keen on avoiding conflict, so she'd never complain about it.
Jinx on Sen/Sol's relationship: Jinx would totally be upset by the way Sol treats their sister. He'd be uncharacteristically defensive of her, and would probably stand up for her and make sure she's not being taken advantage of. He wouldn't understand why she cares so deeply for him, and the soft spot he's always had for her, despite his resentment towards how she got to live her life, would make him look after her much more actively.
Serenity on Jinx/Sol's relationship: Sen would be worried about how little her brothers get along. She wouldn't want Jinx to worry about her, especially, since she wouldn't want to make a big deal about how Sol sometimes treats her, though she'd appreciate his feelings. She'd probably try constantly to help the two get along, which they're reluctant to, but Sen would be determined to get results. She's the one keeping their mildly tolerable relationship afloat, but would also be the breaking point should they argue.
Solare on Jinx/Sen's relationship: To further get under Jinx's skin, he'd try to out-do himself as the best brother with gifts and other gestures to make Sen happy and have her attention on him rather than on Jinx. It's kinda sad, but he'd probably think of Sen often as just a pawn in a game against Jinx rather than, you know, his actual sister. He'd be petty and insincere with Serenity to get at Jinx, and she'd be too blind to see his behavior most times.


Yep, as you can see, I've been thinking a lot about this, hehe. Again, I can't promise anything just yet- Harmonyverse canon has been kind of a set thing for a loooong time now, and throwing Solare in kinda throws a wrench in a few points. Though there are other methods I could integrate Sol by, it's difficult to determine what would work best. In the meantime, enjoy this piece of the Discordant Siblings for now!
